Madagascar

I am going next Sunday, I am very happy! My brother already left with a friend of his last Sunday and the plan is to meet them in Mahajanga, where I will drive with dad from Antananarivo. It is a long journey, but it is said to be very beautiful.

I booked my flight for Antananarivo last Friday. So I’ll be in Madagascar from April 29th to May 13th. I’m very happy to finally go.

Last Saturday I also had the news that the second wife of my father died in a landslide in the outskirts of Antananarivo. My father, who was with her, was also caught in the accident, but luckily survived. These were quite sad and scary news.

A Malagasy online newspaper article mentions that in Antananarivo seven people in total perished in the wake of these last days heavy rains.

My father lives there now, he was born there, and I have many cousins and relatives in Madagascar. And still I haven’t found the time to get there, although I am totally convinced that this is a very beautiful country.
