The last time I went to this place — 1 year ago
I went skiing with my then fiancé at Whistler over the MLK weekend in 2004. The skiing was great, no doubt about that. We stayed at the Fairmont Château Whistler, which was OK, but I didn’t care for the décor of our suite—seemed a little tired to me. The Four Seasons hadn’t yet opened, and everything else was booked, so if you want those sorts of accommodations, best to plan ahead.
My fiancé, whom I married a few months later, bought a Collette Dinnegan dress for me. It was a black & white print silk deep V-neck dress with a black obi tie. Great shopping there and in Vancouver (which I adored), some nice art galleries representing local talent, and I saw a few lesser/minor works by some well-known artists. We must have found the restaurants with the heaviest fare, though, so we didn’t do so well in that department and I wasn’t about to spend all weekend in the room ordering room service!
Again, if the weather’s right, the skiing and snowboarding are fantastic.
