I traveled around Transylvania for two weeks last summer with ten American teenagers and two Transylvanian seminary students. It was one of the, if not the, most incredible two weeks of my life. There is no place like Transylvania. It is special in a way that is impossible to explain unless you’ve been there – like a land from “Lord of the Rings” or a fairytale, but real. I happened to run into a Spanish teacher here who’d lived in Kolozsvar (Cluj Napoca) for a year and he said the exact same thing. That word: special. Transylvania is simply one of the most beautiful places on the planet.
