Hey, it's home! — 3 years ago
If you’re sick of Brisvegas (aka Brisbane) hop along down the highway to the Gold Coast! There are themeparks, beautiful wildlife sanctuaries, perfect weather almost all year-round and of course awesome stretches of white sand and surf to frolic in. This is where they hold the surf pros, after all!
Surfer’s Paradise is where the action happens, but I don’t recommend going there during mid to late November, unless you’re of 16-18 years of age. “Schoolies Week” means throngs of teenagers partying down after school graduations, so if you like a more relaxed pace, I suggest staying away then! Even the locals go into hiding during this time and avoid Surfer’s Paradise at all costs.
I also highly recommend going to Zen Chinese Restaurant at Conrad Jupiter’s Casino, impeccable service and delicious food are the standard. It’s truly a feast not just for your tastebuds, but for your eyes too. There are a million other places to eat as well, ranging from the fast hamburger to sushi to a good steak. Keep an eye out for the all-day breakfast specials at small cafes too. For as low as $5, you can get a decent feed that will keep you going as you shop ‘til you drop!
Gold Coast is definitely a place to visit!
