Recommendation: New Exhibit at the Science Center  — 1 year ago

There is a new exhibit opening at the Science Center today, called GROSSOLOGY: The (Impolite) Science of the Human Body.

Basicially, it’s an interactive, hands-on science exhibit about bodily functions. For example, visitors can learn about the process of vomiting at the “Vomit Center”, the physics of acid indigestion (and burping) from the “Burp Machine”, the role of the kidney by playing “Urine: The Game”, amongst other things.

This exhibit promises to be a lot of fun and I’m sure that children will love it!

GROSSOLOGY is on exhibit at the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center (in Balboa Park) from January 20 to April 29, 2007.

News: The Omniscient Santa Claus at the Carlsbad Forum Shops  — 1 year ago

This is the coolest Claus in San Diego County!

Here’s how it works:

While your little one visits with Santa, you stand back and chat with Santa’s Helper. The Helper asks you some basic questions about your child and discreetly feeds the information to Santa’s hidden ear piece via a microphone.

The result:

Santa knows your child’s name without asking, Santa knows your child’s age without asking, Santa knows what your child wants for Christmas without asking, and yes, Santa even knows if your child has been bad or good…all without asking your child!

Santa Claus is around every Saturday and Sunday from noon to 5:00 pm, and every day from noon to 5:00 pm December 20th to the 24th. Story time and photos with Santa are held from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm on the second level of the Forum.
