A question about this place:
I'm heading to London in the summer. Last time I was in London in July, it was kind of chilly and wet. Is that typical? What kind of clothes should I pack?

I Love London in the Summer — 2 years ago
And I LOVE working for an airline because one of the perks is I get to see London in the summer if I want to. And I want to this summer. My college roommate Jane, her sister Pat, and I are heading to the land of the Union Jack for nine days. I’m very excited. I especially love it because Jane has been my friend for so long and this is something special I get to do for her. We are going in time to check out Wimbledon—a lifelong dream of Jane’s.
I might do a question about this later because we are trying to pencil in an itinerary (pencil, not pen because it’s important to stay flexible and open to new opportunities that arise!) and it would be nice to have some input.

London for me was—you won’t believe this—a very cozy place. We were there in July, yet it was chilly and rainy; nevertheless, I was in bliss and more over the intangibles of the city than the tangibles. The whole ambience is so very, very British—traditional, solid, secure. There was nothing hasty or plastic or temporary about the place. I got such a feeling of solidity and security—as though London had always been there—through good and bad, tough times and easy—and always would. The people were lovely—hospitable with a kind of off-hand, understated, dry sense of humor. Everyone needs to go at least once in a lifetime.
