I left Qatar in June 2006. I was there from January to June, and when I did get a chance to see the sights, it was simply marvelous with good food, shopping in the souqs (marketplace) for just about any commodity you could think of like gold, spices and tailored clothing with beautiful cloth for inexpensive prices. The Al Corniche is beautiful and the water is a stunning tint of azure that is hard to believe if you didn’t see photos of it.
