I find this list at Forbes silly, it basically gives whole regions, even countries as beaches, and doesn’t really name the beaches, is targeted for millionaires! They should rename their title: “Regions you might find exclusive beaches”?

Yes, it is a “regenerated” beach and suppose then man made. Galveston is built on a long ancient sand bank. Part of the Moody Garden Hotel, on the lagoon side, what the constructors have done is removed the weeds and brought in fresh clean beach sand. This is a common proceedure to improve beaches near hotels. Anyone can remove the item if it disturbs them a lot.

I’m not really sure we’re talking about the same beach. It has chlorinated water…
It doesn’t “disturb” me, though. I was just wondering. It’s still a fun place to visit. :]

Hi Emily,
… the picture with the kids is very misleading which I have now marked as inappropriate. Look at the other pic. The map and satelitte image will show ocean going sailboats nearby the beach. Anyway I agree, this is possibly the worst beach in our list!

Actually, that picture is directly from the Moody Gardens website, and I can testify that it looks like that. It’s made to look like a real beach. If you look at the picture that you posted, you can see that they’re of the same place. Compare the umbrellas.
And I agree…while it’s a great place to take kids without worrying they’re going to get stung by jellyfish, it probably isn’t a good candidate for this list. :]
