25 Things You Must Do and See When You Visit NYC

Forget the tourist traps...well, most of them, anyway. Of course, you're going to see a Broadway show -- but wouldn't you like to see where theater really happens in NYC? And yes, you'll see The Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island -- but what about other monuments that are off the beaten track? What about the cool stuff no one ever talks about or the things the tour guides never show you? Here are a few of my personal favorites (especially if you are a person of color).

Well, I saw the Empire State Building… Statue of Liberty… several museums… Times square… Central Park (just not the zoo)… Barnes and Noble (hee)… I was only there for three days, and, in my defence – it was 96 degrees, so getting to places took some time.
