Kumano Hongu Taisha is dedicated to the storm deity Susanoo-no-Mikoto, brother of Amateresu, the Sun Goddess to whom the Imperial family (until the 1950's) traced their ancestary to in an unbroken line.
It is also dedicated to the Sacred Crows of Susanoo,
Iin Relaxin.
