Japan, like the rest of east Asia, is a very polite society. What i like the most about Japan is the language and pop culture and its capability to combine it with their traditional (yet sadly gradually dying) culture. Its foundation is heavily influenced by China, as well as Korea. The architechture is AMAZING. No place in America (even if it is Japan Town in San Fran) can replicate the amazing and ancient buildings that exist there. The language is unique and flows better than Mandarin does. The overall culture is unique and Japan takes great pride in it. Spring time is the busiest time of year but also the most beautiful and comfortable weather-wise. In the spring is when the cherry trees blossom followed by the plum trees. They even have a festival for this occasion. Japanese phrases are useful, but many there speak enough english to help you. I HIGHLY recommend Japan.
