Lockhart is a Mexican-food-dinner-preparation-time distance from Austin. I happen to know that because I had a friend who lived in Lockhart while I lived in Austin. She made some great Mexican food and would call me and say, “Hey, I’m making some enchiladas and some sopa. You can have some if you leave now.” By the time I drove to Lockhart, they would be ready.
