Worth visiting!
A definite contrast to the American Camp
Where the American Camp is exposed, windswept and looks to the Straits of Juan de Fuca, the English Camp is sheltered in Garrison Bay, forested and very cozy—based on the archival photos, little has changed since the time the camp was in operation. My most recent visit was done when the main exhibit area was closed, but the park area stays open late during summer and it’s good for a walk around to see the restored buildings and flower garden, and to compare the whole area with its sister site to the south.
