When going to Cagayan de Oro City, expect a small developing city. People are still laid back and has a provincial atmosphere. Tricycles or locally called Motorelas still ply within the city center. Cagayan de Oro lost all of its old Spanish buildings (including the old San Agustin Church built in 1845) during World War II.
