How I got the name 'Cranberry Goddess'  — 2 years ago

There was this dance group touring from India with their show ‘The Merchants of Bollywood’, and they did a performance on some TV show. The host asked them ‘so where are you going next?’ and one of the dancers replied ‘to Cranberry’, by which she meant Canberra. I thought it was cool to come from Cranberry, and thought a goddess would fit in well with the bollywood show, and changed my email name to ‘cranberry goddess’, then decided to use it here too.

Mystery solved

You’d think that the Canberra/cranberry connection would have been more obvious, but it wasn’t to me, and I was having the hardest time trying to imagine cranberries being grown in Oz. I associate them with chilly places like Canada.

Okay, I’m going to stop now.

haha that's funny

I have never seen cranberries growing here, but most other berries. Canberra is in one of the coldest parts of Australia, so it is conceivable.

They do sell cranberry juice/sauce etc. here though, and I have a vague memory of my sister’s friend being on an ad for cranberry juice where she was dressed up as a genie, so I guess I could have been trying to emulate her.
