in Duluth, but it is at least 40 times better just a few miles out from town. Duluth is 29 miles long (about 55K – I think – rough guess), but only 3 miles wide at its widest point (about 6K).

I live about 18 to 20 miles out in the country, between two large inland lakes. This is where I operate my blacksmith shop. There is great fishing here, and it’s just great canoeing here too.

Just north of where I live there are about 5o miles of uninhabited territory. Great to go primitive camping in.

I was just at a historical reenactment over in Cloquet (just upstream on the St. Louis River).

Did you take in the fireworks tonight? They are some of the best in the nation.
