Crap!
One evening my long-haired chihuahua, Funston was acting strangely. Just touching him caused him to squeal. As the night wore on nothing changed so we decided to take him to the emergency clinic.
We took him there and the guy at the frontdesk was soooo nice (the front desk people on lakeside are bitches). Funston got some X-rays and it turned out that he had some blocked intestines with all sorts of weird stuff. He eats anything he can get his mouth on so this wasn’t surprising. His poos always have weird things in them. He was wisked away to get an enema.
Meanwhile, I remembered that in all the flurry to get Funston to the vet, I had left the easter chocolates out (I was putting together easter eggs for my co-workers). We left our two labs at home and one of them will eat anything he can.
You know what’s coming next. My husband raced home and shortly thereafter returned with 3 empty bags of easter candy. The vet calculated the harmful effects and thankfully determined that it all should just pass without incident.
For the next week, our chocolate lab (ironic isn’t it?) passed colored foil from the easter eggs.
