Uncharacteristically rugged spine of the Cascades, located between Mounts Rainier, St Helens, and Adams, with views of all three. The Pacific Crest Trail passes through Goat Rocks, but other than PCT-ers, this wilderness area doesn’t get a lot of use.

It’s a fairly long drive from Seattle or Portland to get to a trailhead, but the subsequent hike is not particularly strenuous and has a tremendous payoff in terms of scenic beauty.
