Ely is an attractive little town, dominated by an impressive cathedral, though you do have to pay to go inside. There’s a small town centre and a pleasant river frontage with some popular pubs and restaurants. Worth a visit if you’re in the area but probably not worth a special journey. There are often recitals or other performances in the cathedral.
