Been to Singapore a couple times. Spent a few nights there in transit, so more than airport stops. Singapore is much as you may have heard. VERY clean and safe. I stayed both times in the Orchard Road area. But, I saw cigarette butts on the ground. AND they are MAD for chewing gum! They can possess and chew gum, but no one can buy or sell it there. Consequently, when Singaporeans come to other parts of the world they load up.

But, after not too long a time “S’pore” starts to get a little boring. The shopping is good, but it’s usually high end and you can do that anywhere.

The best part of S’pore is Chiangi Airport and Singapore Airlines (On Demand video of @70 movies, plus beaucoup music).

Thanks for the keen observation..yes, it’s true, we “smuggle” chewing gum in whenever we travel to other countries :P ..We can chew gum but you can’t find them selling here.

Sigh, it’s true that when comes to shopping, we can’t beat those crazy cheap prices in other parts of asia, (esp in other S.E.A)..but we can’t possibly go too low, I mean after all, how are we going to survive where living expenses are so bloody high here(esp. with the expensive shops’ rental) :(

P.S. I can’t really comment on who dumped those cigarette butts on e ground, I mean we were taught from young not to litter, possibly some idiot singaporeans still do that, but don’t forget that e half of e population here is made of foreigners, & so we can’t really control their nasty habit though..after all we are gateway to the rest of the S.E.A. countries.

Oh yes, I just flew recently with SIA to Europe and their movies and music are just splendid! I can control ON MY OWN whichever movies or how MANYTIMES I want to watch, and even rewind!! It’s crazy, hehe!! I didn’t sleep throughout the whole flight because of that ;P (I think I managed to finish watching 6 movies when the flight arrived :))

SIA is first in e world to launch such service ;) Singapore Airline-live T.V. on board
