Worth visiting!

Why I recommend this place to visitors

Tuweep or Toroweap is an access point to the Grand Canyon on the North rim side. It has been left by the Park Service in its primitive state and it is perfect. There is a free campground (10 spots first come first serve) and on a saturday night only 5 were taken.

There is no better way to experience the Grand Canyon. Can only get there via 4×4, roads are well marked and not so bad, but take lots of water.

Did the Lava Falls route to the Colorado River and it was worth every moment. From rim to Canyon floor in 1.5 miles of trail. It is steep and hard but not technical. Stash some water halfway down though, you can use it on the way back up as it gets bloody hot.

But I loved the area, the isolation, no other people on a 5 hour hike in a park that sees over 10 million visits a year? Perfect.
