Worth visiting!

The last time I went to this place

Who ever is thinking of going there for a holiday… prepare to be shunned by the locals. we do not, i repeat DO NOT, like gapers, people from the bay, people who only live here as a second home… sorry to say that unless you are a local or know a local… truckee is not for you.

on the other hand if you are coming to truckee (t-town) to live, then we welcome you with open arms. in order to fit in as a local you must enjoy the following;

-SNOW and sub zero days about 8 months out of the year
-extreme snowboarding and skiing
-camping
-wakeboarding or any other lake oriented activities ie; spending whole days just sitting on the docks by donner
-muchos amounts of mexican food
-hiking and biking
-animals… most importantly a love for dogs

if any of this sounds appealing to you…
then welcome to our lovely little mountain town.

Beg to differ

First of all the vast majority of full time residents CAME from the Bay Area in the first place (check your stats!). Secondly, the Truckee economy exists BECAUSE of toursits!

Thirdly, as a full time Truckee resident who has lived throughout California as well as 5 years in the East I can tell you (as well as can a number of others I know) that Truckee is the absolutely most unfriendly place in the world. NO person is welcomed with ‘open arms’.

Locals here tend to be uneducated, there is an inordinate number of drug users and most of the population is extremely reclusive. As one friend said “people come to the mountains (Truckee) to live becaue they’ve go something to hide.”

All the nice folks I’ve known here have left because the locals are so unappealing and unfriendly. DON’T move to Truckee unless you want to be a recluse and shunned permanently!

Hey Buddy :)

First of all, I think you need to check your stats. Secondly, Truckee economy does not just exsist thanks to the lovely Gapers. And your 5 years on the east coast has really paid off with your negitivness, and lack of any respect. With that, the locals did not welcome YOU with open arms because just maybe you do not respect the people who live here, our enviorment, or our home. And by the way, the locals are no “uneducated” Truckee Tahoe High is one of the hightest ranked schools in California and the average student has a GPA of 3.0 or higher. (Check your Stats!!) To you the population may seem reculsive because all the Locals are trying to HIDE from you. Oh yeah, and if you don’t like Truckee, why dont you leave??? :)

Excuse Me?

This is so not true!!! Obviously this person is not a local or has no idea what they are talking about. It is true that Truckee is a tight-knit community, but it is NOT unfriendly. The only reason hat a person would be out cast in Truckee is if they acted like a gaper or thought that they were extremely cool.

Yes, it is true that Truckee needs tourists for its economy, but that doesn’t mean that we have to like them if they are rude.

It is apparent that you don’t fit in with this ton and its people (which means that you must have a social disorder or be a complete snob) so just move :)

P.S. The population is not reclusive, the number of drug users is very low, and Truckee High has a student average of 3.0 or higher!!! (I would know I go there)

P.P.S. Who cares about the bay anyway??? (except San Fran)
