Worth visiting!

River  — 2 years ago

I went here on a ‘shopping trip’ on the way back from a tour I did somewhere, but quickly grew bored of the shopping and headed for the river. Everything was so green, and the river looked so beautiful in that light. People were really friendly and said hello, I guess they were wondering what a tourist was doing away from the shops. I walked halfway across a rickety looking wooden bridge to take a photo and had a conversation with a guy on a bicycle who was wondering what I was doing. He lived on the other side of the river and was going home.

I had lunch on the second floor balcony of a restaurant that was quite memorable. The food was nice – South Indian ‘Tali’ which is a mixed plate of curries, and my favourite banana fritters for dessert. I had a view over the fork in the river, with trees weeping into the water. Time froze… but not for long enough, as I had to go back to the ‘shopping’ to get picked up by my bus.
