This is, hands down, the best valued Mexican food place in all of Tyler. One of the greatest things about El Lugar: it’s family owned! They also opened up a second location on Golden Road near Electric Cowboy.
There’s not a lot of diversity on the menu; it has maybe 10+ selections, consisting of some combination of tortillas (corn or flour), white cheese, avocados, and the deliciously seasoned ground beef. They stock traditional sodas and candies; the decor (in the original location) is a bit distracting at first, but the establishment projects a mellow vibe overall.
Prices on the menu range from about $2-$6, a real bargain for the amount of food you will receive.

My only warning? The food is addictive!
