Why I want to go to this place

I hear it’s been raining a lot there….very green. Sounds good to me.

I went up there about two weeks ago, and it rained the drive up but was dry in Scottsboro. I think the springtime showers are over and now it’s just going to be HOT.

AL

I’ve never been AL, only heard about it from my friends. It sounds like a beautiful place, though, the small town atmosphere is probably not for me anymore. I prefer the city, but I can see some of the benefits of a small town. I grew up in one and hated it.

Yeah, my friend was saying it’s hot and humid. It’s typically over 100 degrees here, but it’s usually a dry heat for the first half of summer. mid-July to mid-September is pretty miserable—105+ and high humidity.

How far do you live from Scottsboro?

I’m about three and a half hours southwest of Scottsboro. I’ve never experienced “dry heat,” as I’ve lived in Florida, Georgia, and Alabama all my life, but this hot, humid weather (high 80’s today, low 90’s yesterday I think) still gets to me a little bit. Alabama is a beautiful place, though, with a lot of history, and it would definitely be a great place to visit. Scottsboro is very “small town,” (I grew up in the suburbs and hated that, too, so I feel your pain), but it’d probably be a great place to visit. It’s really pretty up there, and of course, Unclaimed Baggage.

Unclaimed Baggage

I heard from my friend they have some real good deals there. That does sort of sound appealing in a warped sort of sense. One person’s loss is another person’s profit?

I’m not much of a shopper, so that’s why it doesn’t strike me as much fun.

But, in terms of scenery, and I love nature, it sounds like a place I’d love to visit in the near future. Maybe in the next couple years we can go visit.
