Worth visiting!
A tip I have about this place
Live there. Seriously – try to go for at least a couple weeks and book a flat, not a hotel. Flats by the week can be had through http://nyhabitat.com among other places.

i’m leaving aug. 23rd for paris. only for a week however. a week in paris is better than no week in paris. i was thinking about renting a flat for the week but i wasn’t sure if these prices are per person or what. if not, wow those are pretty affordable. we’re students and are on a strict budget but don’t want to stay in a dump.
also, there’s a variety of areas where the flats are located. if i’m there for a week. what’s the most charming location i should buy it in?
thanks.

Since you only have a week I recommend you stay central:
Paris is divided up into numbered districts (see map at http://nyhabitat.com/map/pa/show-map.php?lang=en).
Anything in the marais (3rd and 4th) will put you in among the nifty cafes and restaurants. Rue Mouffetard is not to be missed for an evening stroll and dinner. If you can get something on either Ile – grab it.
The Eiffel Tower is by the 7th – the 5th and 6th along the river are really nice as well and puts you close to Musee d Oursey (better than the Louvre). In general, the more central you are the better. Also recommend the Rodin museum for a morning.
Montmartre is charming for a day trip and the Sacre Couer is really worth the trip – you get a great view from the steps. Bring a picnic.
Also highly recommend Luxembourg Gardens. Finally, behind Notre Dame is a bridge to the other island – cross it and find a little cafe called Bertillon – the best fruit sorbet in the world. If its cold get the hot chocolate.
I’ve found the Camps Elysees to be insanely crowded and not generally worth it if it is (tourist central).
As for prices of flats – the price is the price – regardless of how many people you bring. Most take credit cards and you get to be more on your own than if you were in a hotel.
