Worth visiting!
From what I understand, this is a very old area of New Jersey, with a long history of seafaring adventures. As I write this, I think of places like Mystic Conneticut, or Nantucket and other places that beckon lost and lonely sailors!

There is great history in LEHT!!!!! Osborne Island was a key factor in the Revolutionary War. The Brits were trying to get up on the Mullica River to overtake Batsto (in Burlington County.) Batsto was were cannon balls were being made for the war. Chestnut Neck and Osborne Island engaged in a battle where the Brits snuck up on Gen. Pulaski’s men and burned down their ship while they were sleeping. The Brits never made it to Batsto, thanks to Gen. Pulaski’s men.
