Thailand: Central Thailand: Hua Hin

Made a very big mistake by going to Hua Hin. Maybe it was just the wrong time to go (January). Travelled by train from Bangkok which was a very slow and tedious journey. Hotel was atrocious and all others booked out. Stayed overnight and caught next bus back to Bangkok. Bus trip was much better than train trip. Hua Hin beach was wall to wall with fat, ‘orange’ coloured bodies that had been laying in the sun for far too long. I guess we are spoiled in Oz with miles and miles of beautiful beaches without too many people to overrun them. Went to Koh Chang and loved it.

Koh Chang is so much better then hua-hin

A good choice to go to koh chang, in my books

To really enjoy “hua-hin” Getting away from the main area was most important.

If you are lucky there is hidden beauty to see Hua-hin but usually only locals know about. I was lucky having a friend there when i visited

Thankyou for your comments. I suspect January is the busiest time to visit Hua-hin, therefore it was overcrowded with tourists. There were mostly North Europeans there at that time so I’m guessing that is when they escape the European winter for a few weeks. Is it always so busy in Hua-hin? Somebody needs to educate the North Europeans to the dangers of overexposure to the sun and cigarette smoke. We also found that to be the case at Koh Chang. If Lung Cancer doesn’t get them skin cancer will!
