Worth visiting!
Kinder Scout
I’ve always loved walking, especially on fabulous wild places like Dartmoor, but I think I like the Peak District even more! The views are stunningly beautiful – with the old stone walls and farms, and really rural villages – it feels unspoilt and as if it looked the same hundreds of years ago. Kinder Scout’s the highest peak in the Peak District – it’s only 636m but it was tough walking in some places – it’s really rocky and steep, and in some places so boggy.
It was lovely on the top, and there’s a waterfall – called Kinder Downfall – which is 30m high – which was beautiful as well. It has wonderful rock formations around the waterfall, which people were abseiling down – it looked so fun!
This is a picture we took at the top – it’s steep to climb up, but it’s strangely flat at the top, like a plateau – as if a mountain has been shaved off half way up.
