I just spent a couple of days in the remote Kimberley doing a bit of camping, and was accompanied by a couple of Finnish Backpackers, who live in the capital of Lapland! They said I can stay with them if I go to lapland. They recommend christmas time, when it is all snowey and spectacular.

I went to Lapland in January 2005 and it was amazing, i love it and i wish i could go back there someday. i had the good luck of having a boyfriend from Finland at that time and i went up noth to Lapland with him and his parents who were so worried about showing me every single thing and explaining things as well. The best experience in my life,never seen that much snow in allmy life, but saw the reinders and those white birds, didnt see the northern lights though, that´s why i want to go back! :)
Good luck if you go there in winter, and take warm clothes with you!
