Not worth it!

As a local I’m just not that impresesd. There’s many resturants which have better food and cooler people.

Been years since I have eaten here.

When I was running long-line I got thru Amarillo with some regularity, and have eaten here several times.

I thought it was fine.

Of course, I’m not a big red meat eater…so it doesn’t take much to satisfy that urge, if that’s what it is.

Then, they had truck parking.

Contrary to popular belief, truck drivers do not know the best places to eat.

They know the places with truck parking…

You know, if you’re ever going to be comming through let me know and we’ll show you someplace good to eat. Seriously.

The big texan has gotten (or always been) so much of a tourist place that other considerations pale. They don’t have all that great of a cut of steak, the dead animals everywhere gets a bit gross, the service is ok but not great, the prices are high.

They’ve also switched from regular 4 top tables to huge picknick tables. It has really made it less than private.

Randy’s of Wildorado is just about the best place around to eat, but there are many really good resturants around Amarillo. More resturants per capita than Dallas I’ve heard. It’s really the only thing to do around Amarillo most of the time.

It was pretty touristy 20 years ago...I can only imagine it now.

I’m not really a big red meat eater…and it doesn’t take much to gross me out.

Plus, I have to be in just the right mood for dead cow…and it can’t really taste all that much like muscle, you know? Garlic and other things have to be in evidence, overpowering the cow taste.

…shrug… Yeah, I know…odd…

I know you realize the irony of your statement about being grossed out easy…

I’m having a hard time relating because I love red meat. Just had a big plate of beef fajitas in fact.

Anyways.

Irony? What irony?

Gee, Al, whatever do you mean?
