Worth visiting!

Untitled

I’m going to Japan this summer as part of a tour that I’m doing and I get to stay in Tokyo for a couple of days. I’m pretty excited about it. I just wish I knew how to speak Japanese, but I am going with my grandmother who knows minimal Japanese, so we should be okay. Plus, I’m sure in the touristy areas they speak some English.

No..

In fact they don’t speak any English at all, not even in the Touristy area. It’s a very unusual and unsecular country from the rest of world :)

You do need to go with the tour group or with someone who speaks the language there, otherwise pretty hard to get by in that country.

English is spoken in some touristy areas… not good english, but english. You’d be surprised how far you can get by with guestures and grunting. Take a phrasebook that has the sentances written in Japanese, so you can just point to the words if you can’t pronounce them.
