This is a “construction” of Tourism BC for grouping purposes—It is handy for defining the location of “destinations” that don’t fit within the Country:Province: City construct especially scenic roads and byways for example….

but we generally don’t want fake places like this one. Please start a list of good places for tourists instead—that’s really a better way to go about grouping all of these places together. I’m going to start dismantling this…

BC is larger than most countries… you really should have a region level in the heirarchy.
Lists came into being around the time I was doing my entries as I recall…and weren’t integrated quite as nicely as now so that does produce a way to at least get them in.
Just so you know the rational, for the one example of a coastal mountain highway, it encompasses North Vancouver, West Vancouver, Horse Shoe Bay, Sunset Beach, Lions Bay, Porteau Cove, Britannia Beach, Shannon Falls, Squamish, Garibaldi, Brandywine Falls, Whistler, Pemberton, Mount Currie, Darcy
Several of these fit into no CITY or municipality … stating they are part of BC doesn’t come close to saying where they are—having regions of BC does.

I know exactly how big that part of the world is!
Still, when we let people sort things into non-existant places, we end up with duplicate places, odd heirarchies and general weirdness. Even doing counties for our states here in the US is trouble—no one can find the places they are looking for, and we have second versions of cities to swat down. A list is really much better, since people can immediately see where they have and haven’t been, and they can map everywhere too…
