Worth visiting!

new bar in a strange location

We walked in here once in search of food. The guy at the door said, “We have food because we have to, but it’s really bad and really expensive.” So we left to have grilled cheese at Linda’s. I hear they have a lot of peanuts though. I want to go back for a proper drink soon.

Sounds like that attitude has them headed for trouble

If you are suppose to be a restaurant and don’t have a permit to be a bar, seems like you might want to act more like a restaurant. The Stranger has the scoop on how they are in trouble with neighbors & the permit folks . . .

Oh brother.

I’ve noticed a few bars doing this lately—serving “frozen entrees” for $14 so they meet the food requirements but don’t have to actually serve it. I think it’s kind of funny.

That said, the crackdowns on bars and the proposed nightclub regulations are so annoying. More “Nanny State” regulations from our friend the Mayor. Before you know it, the city will suggest the only bar zoning should be in Georgetown next to the proposed “redlight area” and the landfill so all our neighborhoods will be filled with quiet, respectable restaraunts, hopefully serving some kind of fusion food.

I bet all those complainers voted for the smoking ban and sent them out in the street in the first place, too! ;)
