Sadly, they lost their lease and are closing their doors for good tomorrow. Better hurry for a last melenzane sandwich.
You will still be about to buy the bread locally (they are moving the baking stuff) but the cafe has 24 hours of life left.

I’ve been going here for years and I considered it part of my neighborhood experience. I mean, I’ve got a rustic Italian-style bakery blocks from my house and work with such a great little restuarant. Dang!

I had my sad face on in there the other day. I also sported it last night when I drove by there and saw a big “for lease” sign on the side of the building. Oh well. Society marches forward.
