Worth visiting!

Ryan's Trader's Forge

I was here in January for Ryan’s Trader’s Forge. I got to also see the Lincoln Memorial, Washington Monument, and the Veteran’s Memorial Wall. Too bad I wasn’t there longer to visit some more.

The Memorials are fun

We’ve got some nice parks and lots of cultural activities you should check on your next visit.

2 Hrs

Next time I’ll be sure to stay longer if my trip allows. I only had 2 hrs to visit the sites, not much time.

Also, I would love for my whole family to go. My husband has been there, but that was well before we ever met. Our children would have a blast.

Surprisingly to me, it seemed relatively safe (at least the areas I was in), clean, and fairly well organized with regards to public transporation. Public transportation in my area is very poor.

It's not a dangerous town

Like anywhere there are bad neighborhoods. That period years ago when DC was the “murder capitol” of the US was primarily due to a power struggle in the criminal community in the bad neighborhoods. If you stayed out of the bad parts of town, you were not at any real risk.

The DC area is actually probably cleaner and nicer than when you last visited. We’ve had a lot of gentrification. Bad for cost of living, but great for visiting.

Construction

There was lots of this are the Lincoln Memorial, VA Memorial area. Also, the big pool of water in front of the Lincoln Memorial was empty.

Can’t wait to go back.

I can relate about towns cleaning up in areas. Downtown Phoenix used to be a bad place to be, but due to a lot of revitalization over the past 15 yrs, it’s a beautiful safe place.

While in DC in the areas I was, I noticed an abundance of law enforcement officers around, so that made me feel safer.

Had the Opportunity

I’ve had the opportunity to visit DC several times over the last few years. I noticed the same thing, at least in the areas which I visited. It seemed relatively safe. I even went out after dark alone, wandering around by the monuments. I walked around without any real fear. But that may be because I’m naive enough that I wouldn’t be able to recognize danger if it was staring me in the face.

Just Doris, you need to have entries for all those other places in your places..

You gotta stretch it out. Conquer more in the domain of Doris…..

Look at R8. He claimed the Akron airport for heaven’s sake.

Mr. Toddie

sigh…what shall I say. I will try to when I have time and have the inclination to think of such triviality…but with an IQ in the 145-160 range….LOL….it’s hard to think of things on this level.

I have been to the Casa Grande Airport, Chandler Airport, and Stellar Air Park…shall I list these 2? How about the Carousel at the Phoenix Zoo, or that one rest stop between Buckeye and Quartzite???? LOL.

In the sub 145 mind that is ToddieM, there is no limit to the amount of triviality or obscurity that one can subject both themselves and those around them, to….
That Casa Grande airport sounds scrumptious,,,by the by…

I’m thinking maybe I could make this like some stills in the form of like Law & Order of the places I’ve been? Chung chung!!
