I live in Brainerd and it’s not all that bad of a place. It has a little bit of shopping and movie theater, with lots of places to eat. Downtown Brainerd, well it’s nothing like downtown Minneapolis.But you will feel safe at 2 am in the morning walking out of the bars lol.
