I’ve wanted to visit Singapore for a long time, but I want to visit the Singapore River specifically so I can get my picture taken near the Merlion (mermaid-lion) statue there. I saw it in a TV show once; plus that thing’s a tourism symbol as it is.

Good choice, I like the Singapore River too..this place has already converted to rows of entertainment hub..for dinning, cafe & clubbing per se.
Attached a photo I’ve taken from e Boat Quay/Singapore River recently when I was visiting the history musuem at that area.
That photo you attached is in fact our icon-”Merlion”(half fish & half lion), symbol of strength & prosperity!

I too have the blurred pic to show you..that’s Jacky Chan’s back(e man with e white shirt)..he was going off on e Parade bus too fast for most of us to take a better “still” shot. (Shot taken in 2003 for the C.N.Y. Chinggay parade in Orchard Road)

hehe.. no, actually i didn’t have too much to drink.. i was quite sober. :P it was just the camera that couldn’t keep still.. the slightest movement made a big difference!! :( hehe..
