so wanted to go there!

Mark and I so wanted to go there and walked right by it a couple times.

However, on our last day in Auld Reeky we opted to head over to The Edinburgh Dungeon instead. What a mistake…

It was Good Friday and the place was packed with families waiting to get in. We waited a three hour queue or possibly longer because they have this agreement where if you purchase your tickets ahead of time online you can skip the queue. Pfft, people just kept showing up and cutting in front of us. However, we stuck it out because the brochure looked so good and we figured with the crowd that would also be an indication of how great it would be.

We were so disappointed as it took our whole last bit of time in Edinburgh. By the time we were done we only had time to stop for one last quick Fish N Chips from The Clam Shell.

Anyhow, the Edinburgh dungeon wasn’t at all what I expected. The brochure portrays it as an educational action exhibit/ride. Well, there was hardly any RIDE involved mostly just walking to different rooms to see actors doing stupid skits. They hardly mentioned Burke and Hare, plague, or any other things of historical significance. It could have been so much better if it told the history through acting (and had a bit more of the ride).

In summary, Mark and I would have much rather seen the Museum of Childhood or Camera Obscura or ANYTHING else!

Next time we’ll have to be more careful!

Cheers,
Sissy
