Worth visiting!

A question about this place:
Reputable art college here? I've found the Art Institute of Portland, but it doesn't really suit my needs. Plus it's pretty pricey.  — 2 years ago

Have you checked out PNCA or Oregon College of Art & Craft? Both great schools.

Good luck

PNCA is good.. there’s no reall “Well known” art collage in Oregon, but you should check out PNCA… also, Mount Hood Community Collage has some pretty good classes if you are in to Graphic Design. What field are you aiming for? It might help because I’d recommend different schools depending on graphic design, film, appearel design, video, etc.

I’m currently shooting for Fashion Advertising. I checked out PNCA, but they don’t offer any programs specifically in the fashion area.

Hmm … fashion … Portland. Not a real fashion hub, ya know?

The community college system here is strong so check out pcc.edu . The jobs in fashion are strong, if you consider Nike, Adidas and Columbia Sports fashion companies.

Best of luck!

actually, Portland is an amazing city for fashion, just not for schools.

we have an inordinate amount of amazing boutiique’s, independent designers, small run couture clothing lines, fashion events and general buzz going for fashion design here right now.

as far as getting a traditional education however, this is your place, go somewhere else for school, move here to live, dream and get your bacheor’s in kicking ass n’ taking names.
