When I was in Beijing at the end of 2005, they were doing lots of restoration work on all of the major attractions. I heard that they were also working on repairs for the roads, sewer systems, electrical, and water.
The whole city was getting an overhaul!
I wonder what it looks like now!??! I’ll bet it’s great.

I was there in 2005, and again just a month ago: the city looks now like it’s getting even more of an overhaul!
I may not resist going back earlier, but I’m planning to be in Beijing shortly after the 2008 Olympics – the city should be looking its best then, with all its monuments crisply restored and all the rubble cleared or replaced by spanking-new buildings.
