And they all have such interesting names. But if you go, do it right. Wear the long flowing dress, the lace gloves, carry the parasol. This should be especially interesting if you happen to be male. Oh wait—that probably wouldn’t go over very well in Tyler. It’s a little on the conservative side…

Ironically, we have a burgeoning GLBT community. You can even find a decent drag show maybe once a month? Apart from gay night at the clubs, most of the area trannies are pretty private. I used to see a few of them during the holidays, when I worked restaurants.
Additionally, the Rose Garden is right next to the Tyler Civic Theatre Center (home to quite a few GLBT sympathizers, at least on the tech crews). It’d be a great relief to see a man in delicate gloves and a parasol… it would give us hope.
