Vigelandsparken

(in Norway > Oslo)

Worth visiting!

What a nice park  — 2 years ago

My girlfriend and I went here for the better part of a day, and while nobody in Oslo knew how to get there by transit (I think the system was under construction at the time), it was still worth it in spite of the headache it gave us to get there. We packed a nice picnic, including some beer, [Whoops, that’s illegal!] and I recommend you do the same. Then wander around and appreciate just how large this park is, and how interesting all the sculptures are.

Alcohol in public in Norway

Just a word of advice, alcohol consumption in public places in Norway (such as Vigelands Park) is against the law. Norwegian society has a very conservative mindset when it comes to consumption of alcohol. Vigelands Park (or Frognerparken as it is widely known) is spectacular and well worth a visit – whatever the time of year.
