I am planning on moving to phoenix area and find Glendale to be of interest. Does anyone have any suggestions of ideal neighborhoods to live and raise a family.

Glendale

Good Neighborhood

We recently moved into the Arrowhead section of Glendale, which is the northern part of the city. This seems to be a nice section (although somewhat more expensive) – little crime, plenty of shopping, close to freeways. For shopping, Bell Road is just a few miles away and has just about every store and restaurant imaginable located along it. The local mall, Arrowhead Towne Center, is located off of Bell Rd. also and is one of the newer malls for more shopping. The Loop-101 freeway is minutes away which gives you quick access to the rest of the Valley. Downtown Glendale is close by, which is known for its antique stores. This is a nice area to walk around and they’ve made a lot of improvements recently. They have a lot of festivals and events that take place there throughout the year. And, finally, Westgate City Center (about a 15 minute drive) has been open for a little over a year and is slowly being populated with tenant stores. Lots of restaurants open there now. This is known as Glendale’s entertainment and sports district as the hockey arena (Jobing.com arena) and football stadium (University of Phoenix stadium) are located there as well which also host music performances as well as hockey and football games. So, to make a long story short, I would say that the Arrowhead area would be a nice place to locate.
