Panama City

I am always looking through brouchures and advertizments for cruise ships and guide tours to Panama. It looks like a fantastic place to visit. Plus the canal is interesting to me how the water rises to letthe ship roll through I am not sure if it uses a tug boat or a rail system.

Panama Canal

Ships are pulled in and out of locks chambers by electric locomotives built specially for the Panama Canal. In some instances and becuase of the ship size been too big, a tugboat helps to pull them out. Inside of lock“s chambers water runs by gravity to raise or lower ships. Water comes from the Gatun lake, a man made lake at about 85 feet above sea level.
