Not worth visiting!
Okay, maybe you just want to get a glimpse of where the Beatles are from but Liverpool is kind of gross. I personally prefer Manchester (a short trainride away). The buses wouldn’t even stop for us. We had the crappiest chinese food and we had to leave when it started getting dark to avoid any “street scouse”. You can find the same shops in Liverpool in any large English city, so really, there isn’t a good reason to visit here.

It just was the way I saw it and I’m giving my honest opinion. I found it gross because it was dark, damp, and dirty. I’m from Long Beach, California where a lot of people find to be unpleasant. It’s full of drugs and gangs and it’s polluted and dodgy at times. I still love it because it’s my hometown and I find the positive aspects about it but I don’t take offense to those who don’t.

Manchester is no better than Liverpool, and when i’ve been there i’ve found the people to be ruder (before i’ve opened my mouth, so it wasn’t because i’m scouse) and less willing to help you out. All big cities have their problems and it sounds like you were in one of the rough parts of Liverpool. The Beatles were over-rated, Liverpool’s got so much more to offer than them.
