Art over plants by calypte

Having lived within spitting distance of Edinburgh my entire life, even before moving here, I was amazed to have never visited the botanic gardens. Finally made the trip last year, with a willing friend. Unfortunately we’d picked the tail end of the growing season, so there were surprisingly few plants to see – bit of a let down, really.

Largely, though, we’d gone to see the Earth From the Air exhibit, which was on display there at the time. And it was amazing! Maybe this year I’ll go back to see some growing things instead of picture!

Hey,

I went to see that too. It was wonderful. I also have a book of Yann Arthus-Bertrand’s photo’s of New York, which although perhaps a less worthy subject is breathtaking.

It’s the one and only time I’ve been to the botanics. Oh, actually I did go once on a school trip many years ago. One guy was jagged by some plant, and while the teacher was dealing with that another boy tried (and failed) to stand on one of those huge floating lilies. It skated away, he took a header. A pretty good day out :-)
