Amazing Country by godivabacci

Amazing people. I accompanied my husband on a business trip to Thailand. We were in Bangkok for five days, he was in meetings most of the time, so I set off on my own. In all my travels I have never felt more comfortable as a woman alone. The Thai are respectful and generous spirited people. I particularly reccomend that the visitor to Bangkok go to the Weekend Market (Chatuchak – I need to look up the spelling) – 25 acres of ANYTHINGYOUCANIMAGINE! Need a baby Bengal Tiger? Check aisle 34 in section c. Want a rare herb? Next aisle over in section b. Want to take a break and have some pad thai and a coffee? No problem. The most difficult part of leaving the market is finding your way out. Then there is Patpong… an adventure of a completely different sort. Good food abounds in Thailand, the fruit is phenomenal, the varietiy is staggering. I did try durian… possibly the only part of Thailand that didn’t work for me…

Absolutley agree re Chacktuchak — FAB, one of my fave places in the world — half of my wardrobe comes from there, and everyone wonders where I got such gems!
