A Day-Trip by DerJon

Took a day trip into eastern Turkey from Sarpi Georgia. We were pleasantly surprised to see that we got a 90-day multi-entry visa, which could come in handy in the future. Also surprising was how nice people were. Granted, we were in a region known specifically for being a cheap shopping destinations for Georgians, and Americans don’t go too much, but they really went out of their way to welcome us. Security at the “Istanbul Bazaar” bought us a cup of coffee and friended us on Facebook immediately. Then we were met with friendly street vendors, all of whom spoke Georgian and Turkish, not English. They still tried to help us, and my broken Georgian made it possible. The manager at the Burger King also had a pleasant conversation with us telling us that BK was coming to Georgia. Saw some mosques and lots of people. Overall, a great day, a cheap trip, and very easy to get to from Batumi, Georgia!
