I know a lot of people think this is a really great place. Maybe it is but I didn’t realize it.
There were no bad sightlines, but the feel wasn’t very intimate. I sat in a couple of seats to make sure of this. Only the most primo seats behind home plate were all that good (and an usher shooed me away in the 8th inning of a poorly attended blow out—way to encourage future sales of premium seats).
Anyway. My real disappointment was the heritage area of the stadium. It was well done, but it could never live up to the amazing statues in Detroit. Nor did the city view—mostly blocked by a large stand of bleachers and scoreboard—seem as impressive as Detroit’s.
All in all, I’d put this with on par with Comiskey Park.
